No developer is forbidden to play their own game. ArenaNet states employees are forbidden from taking place in ranked GvG games. Not sure what their status on Hero's Ascent is, but I'm sure Devs play PvE, Random Arena, Team Arena, unranked GvG, and probably Alliance missions.
GvG is the only competitive format where results actually matter, since there is the GvG ladder with playoffs and seasons and etc. Unranked GvGs they are allowed, ranked GvGs they are not. Everything else, I don't see why not.

This is kind of dumb, why in the hell should employees be forbidden to use the company's product? That like saying people who in the automobile industry isn't allow to drive their cars, or those who manufacture guns shouldn't be allow to use them.

If their employees play the game like us, do you think they will acutally get any work done? Hell no. It's like a drug lord adivertises his drugs and sell them, but he never do any drugs....

Think of it like insider trading. Theres a chance that being an employee, one has an unfair advantage over the rest of the competition. In GW I don't see that as being an issue, but the possibility is certainly there, and I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to play in ranked GvG matches.

Gaile, last time I saw her was a lvl 7 R/Mo. But she probably rolled a PvP char for 12v12.

I mean playing the game for fun not for GvG cuz we all know how many LONG hours some guilds goes through to get their rank and you don't want peoples from a-net to own your ass and bring your ranking down.

How can you compare wall street insider trading to a video game? XD
Considering Gaile very rarely knows what the programmers are up to, i doubt she has any more advantage than i would if i had a magic 8 ball
Although im sure people who cursed at her in battle would surely be banned already....

I somehow doubt that Anet has a crack PvP squad of competitive players...

And alpha testers can play normally while having advance knowledge of upcoming patches, allowing them to prepare builds in advance for skill updates. *Shrug*

I wasn't asking if they can play the game at all, but if they could reveal who they are while playing. It's highly unlikely that Gaile Gray would tell other players who she is, so unlees the OP has some solid proof he was either tricked or this thread is a troll.
